Alienware announced a new monitor to hit desks shortly that brings support for Dual-Resolution technology, console compatibility, and HDMI 2.1 FRL out of the box.
The AW2725QF or more colloquially referred to as the 27-inch 4K Dual-Resolution Gaming Monitor offers up a no-compromise experience between 4K resolution and high-speed refresh rates.
Alienware’s Dual-Resolution Gaming monitor can support two modes the company details as 4K at 180Hz that supports up to 163 pixels per inch and “suited for visually rich adventuring.” The other mode of this new gaming monitor is FHD at 360Hz which emphasizes motion clarity above all for the more fast-paced shooter genre of gaming.
With a built-in display switch that sits under the base of the monitor, gamers can toggle the onboard Dual Resolution Technology that basically shrinks the resolution from four pixels into one to maintain clarity while doubling the refresh rate when going from 4K to FHD and vice versa.
Beyond the dual nature of the monitor, Alienware crafted a display with gamers specifically in mind that includes a built-in retractable headset hanger, customizable AlienFX lighting fixtures, height-adjustable stand and a ‘space saving’ hexagonal base.
While aimed at gamers, the AW2725QF can also double a content creators go-to with a host of connectivity options that include USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type B-upstream port, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A-downstream slots, one Type-C downstream with power charging, Kensington Security lock, two HDMI connectors and a DisplayPort (DP) with all the adjoining cables.
AW2725QF also boasts 95% DCI-P3 and Delta E<2 support, hardware-based TUV certification ComfortView, HDR 600, G-SYNC, and a 0.5ms response time to minimize ghosting.
The Alienware 27 4K Dual Resolution Gaming Monitor hit China earlier this month on the 15th but will be made available worldwide next month, September 12, 2024 starting at $599.99 USD.
