Amazon has a hardware event September 30th

According to The Verge, Amazon is prepping for a hardware event on September 30th in New York. According to the event going out, it appears the event may feature something new in the Kindle lineup, as well as new Alexa devices.

Hardware events for Amazon have indeed received more attention since the former Surface head, Panos Panay, joined Amazon as Senior Vice President of Devices and Services. It’s worth noting that he did introduce Alexa+, but they didn’t hold a big event last fall. The last thing Amazon updated was the Echo Show in November 2024. Then they introduced an updated Echo Show 15 and introduced the larger Echo Show 21.

Other Echo-based products like the Echo Dot haven’t been updated since 2022. Some devices may get the new AI-powered Alexa+ while other devices won’t see the upgrade—no word yet on if Fire TV or Fire Tablets are getting any update love at this event.
