Asus gave a good tease of the upcoming ROG Ally X in May. In a recent live stream, they have taken the full wraps off the Ally X-handled gaming PC. The ROG Ally X will launch in July with a price up to $799, which is one hundred dollars more than the current pricing of the fully loaded first generation; preorders for the device are open now.
The new Ally X is the same under the hood, using the same AMD Z2 Extreme APU and the same 7-inch 120hz display as the Gen one. So, there is no OLED yet for Asus fans, like the competing Steam Deck. The battery has been doubled from the previous generation to 80. Storage is also upgraded on the Ally X to 1TB versus the 512GB on the previous model. You can also upgrade the SSD using a standard M.2 2280 SSD. The RAM has also been bumped to 24GB of DDR5 memory. You’ll also notice the XG Mobile connector has been removed in favor of a second USB C port featuring the USB 4 specification, which should allow for eGPU connectivity.

The New Ally X also has a similar color to the MSI Claw. The Ally X also boasts better joysticks to last up to 5 million cycles, and the D-Pad is more accurate than its predecessor. You’ll also pick up a two-year warranty and a new version of Armour Crate to top it off
