Leak suggests Microsoft Build 2024 could be set for May 21-May 23

We might be only two months into the new year, but it is already time to look ahead to what’s next at Microsoft when it comes to Windows, AI, and even Microsoft 365. The biggest stage for that will be the company’s annual Build developer conference, and even though official dates are not known yet, a recent leak is suggesting when you can expect things to kick off.

Courtesy of WalkingCat, who has an excellent track record when it comes to leaking Microsoft-related things, it looks as though Microsoft Build may be set for May 21-May 23. Take it with a fine grain of salt, but WalkingCat’s simple post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter suggests the usual May timing for when the Redmond firm might be holding its biggest developer conference. As a reminder, last year’s version of the conference ran from May 23 to May 25.

We’ll be keeping an eye out on the official Microsoft Build website once things become more official, but it doesn’t hurt to add to the speculation, should you be planning to attend in person. As we hinted, expect Microsoft to focus on AI, and perhaps even Windows 12, and maybe even Windows on ARM during the event. Rumors show that Microsoft is to reveal new Surface devices before Build, too, so perhaps Windows might take center stage. We’ll have to wait and see, but things sure seem exciting.
