Copilot on Windows 11 now launches in an expanded window, because, why not?

Copilot on Windows 11 is getting one big improvement. The emphasis is on big here, as the Copilot experience that comes up at the side of your desktop whenever you trigger it will now will open up in a bigger space than before.

The news was shared by Windows CVP Shilpa Ranganathan on X, the platform previously known as Twitter. As you can see from her post, you’ll now be able to resize Copilot back to the original size by clicking on the sidebar icon, between the . . . menu, and the close button. The expanded window should give you more room to chat. Interestingly enough, there’s also a teaser to the side in a notepad window, too, where Shilpa seems to hint that more goodness is coming to Copiliot in Windows soon.

We’re not seeing this feature yet on the most stable version of Windows 11, so this could perhaps be a feature for Windows Insiders for now. Yet, even though it’s in the shipping non-beta or non-Windows Insider version of Windows 11, Copilot is still in testing. It’s not a final experience just yet, which is why it’s always evolving.
