Developer_Direct kicked off big 2026 for Xbox

Developer_Direct kicked off the 2026 gaming announcements with a packed showcase highlighting major titles coming to Xbox this year. Playground Games, Game Freak, and Double Fine brought the goods with extended gameplay trailers and behind-the-scenes insights into their upcoming projects. It’s important to note that all titles shown do support Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning you buy it once and enjoy it on all your devices. Your saves and achievements will stay in sync across all of your devices.

Game Freak kicked things off with a deeper look into Beast of Reincarnation, an action RPG set in the haunting future of Japan. Players follow Emma, afflicted by a mysterious “blight” and love for her canine companion Koo, a fast-paced real-time combat with tactical slowed abilities creating a new system and style called “one person, one-dog, action RPG. It launches this summer and will be available day one on Game Pass.

Racing fans get ready for the next installment in the Forza Horizon series. Forza Horizon 6. This time, the series takes gamers to Japan in what is called the most vertical map yet. Diverse biomes and seasonal changes will be experiences that gamers can have. The cover cars are the 2025 GR GT Prototype and the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser. New features include custom garages, The Estate, Drag Racing comes to Time Attack Circuits, and a 550-car roster. Get ready, day one Game Pass subscriber, with the launch on May 19th, 2026.

If you’re a Fable fan, the team at Playground Games pulled back the curtain on the latest release and reimagining of the title, offering a first look into Abion’s open world. Showing off character customizations, a refreshed mortality system, and combat system with familiar foes and new threats. Enjoy its trademark humor alongside choice driven story telling. Fable arrives in Autumn 2026 for PC, XBOX, Steam and PlayStation 5

Kiln, slated for a Spring 2026 release, is a creative online pottery party brawler title. Players can craft ceramic armor from a realistic pottery wheel, with each pot shaping combat skills in the 4 V 4 arena battles. During Developer_Direct, fans got a hands-on look at crafting tools and combat roles, as well as a glimpse of the game’s gameplay tone. Be on the lookout for a closed beta before a launch this Spring

Developer_Direct kicked off the 25th anniversary of Xbox, and players can look forward to returning favorites such as Gears of War and Halo: Campaign Evolved, as well as other third-party titles in 2024.
