Discord is coming to Windows on Arm

Another app is getting native Windows on Arm support, according to The Verge. Discord is working to bring its popular chat app used by gamers and creatives to Windows on Arm. An early build is available for testers, proceed with caution if you choose to try it early builds often have bugs and performance issues, so keep that in mind if you decide to jump in.

When a public release hasn’t been announced yet, it is worth noting that you can currently run Discord on an ARM-based device, but it is done through the Microsoft Prism emulation platform. Running apps under the emulation layer often works for lightweight apps, but you frequently find they don’t perform as well or maximize battery life. Having a native app will maximize both performance and efficiency.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for more information about the final release.
