Former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has joined Microsoft

It’s been an active few days for Sam Altman, he’s been from CEO of OpenAI to fire as CEO, then on Saturday rehired. As of today, Altman has found a new position with Microsoft to lead its AI research division. Satya Nadella had this to say on his X profile (formerly Twitter).

Nadella made it clear during Microsoft Ignite 2023 last week that the two companies have an extremely healthy relationship. Greg Brockman also posted on X (formally Twitter) that he and other Open AI leaders would be joining the Microsoft team.

Investors are clearly happy with the decision as Microsoft stock has reached an all-time high after announcing the new hires. Shares hit as high as $377.10 on Monday.
