Gears of War: Reloaded coming this summer to Xbox, Cloud Gaming, and PC

Gears of War: Reloaded is a comeback and a celebration of one of gaming’s most iconic and remembered franchises.This time, you’ll be able to jump back into those memories. Gears of War: Reloaded will be in 4K resolution and 120FPS support, flanked by a multiplayer experience with Cross-Play, so you can experience the game that started it all with your friends, young and old, across all platforms.

Reflecting on the 20th anniversary of the original Gears of War in 2025, Gears of War: Reloaded reminds us of moments and stories told, and it opens the door to even more players. The original Gears of War hit the shelves in 2006, while Gears of War Reloaded opens the door to the latest hardware, bringing new players to the franchise. Developed by The Coalition in Partnership with Sumo Interactive and Disbelief Games, Gears of War: Reloaded comes August 26th, 2025. It will arrive on day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and for those not on Game Pass, a retail price of $39.99.

No content is left behind all the content from Gears of War Ultimate is coming along, giving players the most complete game version to date. Players can get all downloadable content at no extra charge. This will include the bonus Campaign act and all multiplayer maps and characters.

As a thank you to longtime fans, Gears of War: Reloaded will be a free upgrade for anyone who purchased the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition prior to this announcement. A code will be delivered via a direct message to your Xbox account.

Gears of War has always been a game franchise to be shared, and this is no different. Split Screen, online campaign co-op, and eight-player online play will be available without a Microsoft account. Streaming options and cross-play functionality will require a Microsoft account.
