GeForce NOW turns Six and Amazon Fire TV gets a gaming gift

The sixth anniversary celebration for GeForce NOW is rolling on through the month of February, and the cloud gaming giant isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. In fact, they are expanding into your living room. Big updates this week to the platform: GeForce NOW is now available on select Amazon Fire TV devices. Giving more screens for gamers to choose from.

Assuming you own a Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, a Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), or a Fire TV Stick 4K Max (1st Gen), you can launch the app directly on your TV and play your games with your attached Bluetooth controller. Streaming runs up to 1080p 60FPS with standard dynamic range using H.264 encoding. While it is a bit of a letdown not to see resolutions over 1080P or FPS higher than 60 to take advantage of the high-end televisions available, it still gives Fire TV devices a spot next to other playable platforms such as Windows, macOS, Androi,d and iOS for your mobile devices, straight from your web browser, and some smart TVs.

Fire TV integration brings cloud gaming direct to the living room, stream your favorite PC titles, pick up right where you left off, all without the need for a console. RTX gaming power in the living room is a natural fit.
