Get ready for the Battlefield 6 Open Beta

EA is hoping gamers have forgotten about the debacle that was Battlefield 2042. With the recent announcement of Battlefield 6, with a rumored release date in October of this year, EA is kicking off two open beta periods to let gamers get just a taste of the game, and to allow developers to get some feedback and squash some bugs.

The Open Beta will run for two weekends. The first weekend is August 9th and 10th, and he second weekend adds a day of play, August 14th-17th. See the graphic below for the modes and maps available each weekend.

If you’d like to take a deeper dive into each game mode and the individual maps, you can do that here. Nothing is required to get into the open beta; you do not have to pre-purchase the game. You can go here to download the launcher for your desired platform. According to this thread on Reddit, 9,000 players were sitting in Steam checking out the settings, and that was about as many people as were playing Battlefield 2042. Gamers are ready for a new game and seem thus far to give EA another chance with its popular FPS.
