Google brings Gemini to Workspaces as standalone app

Microsoft has begun differentiating its two-tiered artificially injected Copilot experiences as one for consumers and another dubber Copilot Pro for Prosumers, Enterprise, or anyone willing to fork over cash to access more business-focused features. Google is charting a similar path with its Gemini for Workspace experiences that support organizations enterprise-grade tasks.

According to a recent blog post, GM and Vice President of Google Workspace Aparna Pappu informs customers that not only is access to Gemini for Workspace will expand but that new features are in tow.

Accessing Google Workspace now comes with support for a new feature called Security Advisor that hosts a toolkit of options to fend off the latest cyber security threats.

Think of it as your personal security expert that can offer business-tailored insights, actionable  guidance, and additional threat prevention and data protection controls. Security advisor delivers insights directly to an IT administrator’s inbox, with tailored recommendations to enhance the organization’s security posture. This includes a guided experience for implementing recommended threat defenses, account security measures, and data protection capabilities. It’s security made simple.

Gemini for Workspace will also gain higher levels of security and privacy certifications that will mark the first every generative AI solution to gain support from standard bearers such as SOC 1/2/3, ISO 27001, and IS) 27701. The new certification adds to the growing list of certs made available to Gemini for Workspace that includes GDPR, CCPA, HIPPA, CS STAR, ISO 27001/17/18, and more.

Workspace customers can head over to gemini.goog.com to snatch up the standalone Gemini for Workspace Business app, but should be aware the release is rolling out and only accessible to enterprise account holders.
