Google Fi adds new unlimited plan

If you’ve never heard of Google Fi, that’s okay. They aren’t the traditional cellphone provider. Google Fi relies on partnerships with existing carriers to make its service work. In the U.S., T-Mobile is the network of choice. In 2015, the service started as Project Fi and was renamed Google Fi in 2018.

As consumers look for cheaper cell phone service options, Google is listening. As part of its ten-year anniversary, Google is touting a new plan called Unlimited Essentials, designed for users who want, you guessed it, the essentials. For just one line, you get unlimited calls, texts, and 30GB of high-speed data for $35.00/month

Looking for something else? The existing plans got some tweaks as well. Unlimited Standard now has 50 GB of high-speed data, up from the 35GB limit before. Hot spot tethering is included, up to 5GB. Coverage in Canada and Mexico remains unchanged.

The premium plan, Unlimited Premium, offers up to 100GB of high-speed data, up from 50 GB previously. 50GB of tethering data is also included. Use this plan in 200+ destinations and get six months of YouTube Premium and 100GB of Google One storage.

Google Fi is the only carrier that doesn’t charge extra for your connected devices such as tablets and laptops. You can now quickly and easily connect your eSIM devices without needing a physical data sim. On top of all that 54 countries are being added to its international 5G coverage network.
