Google Pixel 9 brings Google’s latest AI enhancements

If you’re a regular slab phone fan, Google has three new options in the Pixel 9 lineup. This year, the emphasis is on screen sizes with the option to get a larger screen without having to give up features on smaller devices. The new Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL flank the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold this year. All the new slab phones are backing the new Google Tensor G4 chip.

The iconic camera bar has not left the Pixel 9 lineup, with a design that feels good in the hand, rocking a glass back with polished metal sides. The Pro model comes in two different sizes this year. The Pixel 9 Pro is 6.3 inches, and the Pixel Pro XL is 6.8 inches. Both phones are equipped with what Google calls Super Actua displays, claiming to be the brightest. The new 42MP front camera is sharper and brighter in low light. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pro 9 XL have the same specs and features except for screen size. There are no more sacrificing features on the smaller devices.

Remember, Google promises seven years of updates. Just like the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the slab phones offer the same software features: Pixel Screenshots, Pixel Studio, and the new Video Boost, which takes advantage of that 48MP shooter and Super Res Zoom video. You also get Satilite SOS service for those off-the-grid emergencies.

Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL are available for preorder today. They cost $700, $999, and $1099, respectively. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL will be available on August 22nd, while the Pixel 9 Pro will be available on September 4th.
