The next evolution of Gemini in Chrome is here for macOS, Windows, and Chromebook Plus, bringing the powerful Google Gemini experience straight to your browser. These built-in models are all about multitasking, creating, planning, and getting things done online.
Gemini will stay open in a persistent side panel while you browse, keeping your main tab focused on your task. You’ll be able to do such things as summarize product reviews, compare options across sites, and adjust your calendar. Handing tasks without breaking your flow keeps you locked in.
You can get creative with Nano Banana in the side panel as well and create quick mockups for projects, home designs, or a simple birthday card invitation for the kids. All without having to download, reupload, or even switch tabs. You’ll see a deeper integration with Google Apps, you’ll be able to draft messages, check your flight options, and pull information from old emails as needed. You can manage these choices and the level of access through Connected Apps settings.
Coming soon is Personal Intelligence, which allows you to tailor responses to your preferences and remember context from previous conversations. Chrome is also becoming more Agentic; it can Auto-Browse for you. Use Auto Browse to schedule appointments, complete long forms, research travel topics, and more. You can also ask Gemini to complete tasks that require you to sign in once permission is granted.
Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP is Google’s new open standard for Agentic shopping. This allows Agentic agents to safely fill your e-commerce carts across the web. UCP was developed with Shopify, Etsy, Wayfair, Target, and many others. Safety is at the core of Agentic browsing, with the browser always pausing to confirm before exchanging personal information.
