Immersive Sound Revolution: Rapture Innovations’ Sonic Lamb Headphones and XD Automotive Audio Seat

Rapture Innovations, the deep-tech audio startup co-founded by Navajith Karkera and Jagath Biddappa, is trying to make waves at CES 2025 with its revolutionary sound technology.

Rapture Innovations’ patented technology delivers a complete sound experience by enabling users to feel low-frequency sound (sub-bass) through their body, creating a life-like and physically immersive auditory experience. This innovation overcomes traditional subwoofer limitations, providing unparalleled depth and realism without the constraints of space, power, or design.

At CES 2025, Rapture Innovations showed off two groundbreaking products that incorporate this transformative technology:

  • Sonic Lamb Headphones: The world’s first headphones with reimagined subwoofers, delivering immersive audio for gaming, entertainment, and everyday listening.
  • XD Automotive Audio Seat: An audio seat system that redefines in-car entertainment with a physically immersive and visceral sound experience. This system complements or replaces traditional subwoofers to overcome current limitations and personalize bass response in every seat.

Sonic Lamb Headphones

The Sonic Lamb headphones feature patented Hybrid Driver Acoustics technology, which combines traditional sound wave transmission for mid and high frequencies with proprietary Impulse Drivers for low frequencies. This technology translates audio signals into mechanical impulses that are felt through the ear pads, providing a subwoofer-like experience.

The headphones offer four personalization modes:

  • Hear: Standard audio mode.
  • Feel: Adds a tactile dimension to the audio.
  • Immerse: Enhances the immersive experience.
  • Beast: Maximizes the bass response for a powerful audio experience.

Advanced Features

  • Noise Cancellation: Equipped with a triple mic system and advanced algorithms to capture the user’s voice and block out ambient noise.
  • Detachable Boom Microphone: For improved voice quality during meetings or gaming sessions.
  • Wireless and Wired Options: Supports Qualcomm aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive for high-resolution wireless audio, and offers a USB Digital audio interface for studio-quality wired connections.
  • Comfort and Hygiene: Innovative internal hinges and thick plush Wooferpads ensure a custom fit and maximum comfort. The headphones also feature replaceable earpads and a silicone headband liner to prevent deterioration and inhibit bacterial growth.

The Sonic Lamb headphones have been tested and tuned in Denmark and shipped to over 45 countries. They have received acclaim from leading tech publications and earned a spot in Forbes 30 Under 30 India and Asia 2024.

These headphones are designed to provide a high-fidelity, fully immersive, and personalized audio experience, making them a standout product in the headphone market.

XD Automotive Audio Seat

The XD Automotive Audio Seat integrates Rapture Innovations’ proprietary Impulse Drivers into the seats, providing a sub-bass response that users can feel through their body. This technology converts low-frequency audio signals into mechanical impulses, delivering an added dimension of feeling the music through bone, tissue, and skin conduction.

Key Features

  • Impulse Driver Integration: The seats feature a 2, 4, or 7 Driver configuration to reproduce the physical experience of sound in the frequency range of 20Hz to 80Hz, which is largely felt through the human body.
  • Personalized Bass and Immersion: Each passenger can control the bass response based on their preference, ensuring a personalized and immersive audio experience.
  • Space-Saving Design: By reducing or eliminating the need for traditional subwoofers, the XD Automotive Audio Seat saves space inside the vehicle.
  • Enhanced Driving Experience: The system enhances the driving experience, making it more enjoyable and immersive, whether in heavy traffic or cruising on the highway.

Benefits

  • Novel and Immersive Audio Experience: Feel the music like never before.
  • Personalized Bass for Each Seat: Tailor the audio experience to individual preferences.
  • Space Efficiency: Save space by reducing or eliminating traditional subwoofers.
  • Reduced Acoustic Constraints: Overcome the limitations of conventional in-car audio systems.
  • Reproduce the Rumble of ICE in EVs: Enhance the audio experience in electric vehicles by reproducing the rumble of internal combustion engines.

“We’re thrilled to demonstrate how our technology is reshaping the way we experience sound,” said Navajith Karkera, CEO of Rapture Innovations. “Our mission is to bring life-like audio immersion to applications where traditional solutions fall short, from headphones, VR and gaming to automotive and beyond.”
