Judge decides Google has a competitive advantage in Epic Games versus Google battle

It took three years, but after suing both Google and Apple for having store monopolies Epic Games finally got a win. The verdict has found that Google turned its Google Play and Billing Services into a monopoly.

The Verge is reporting it only took a few hours for the jury to answer yes to every question that Google has a monopoly in how Android apps are distributed and billed. They also found that Google was anticompetitive, and Epic was harmed by this behavior. Google Affairs and Public Policy VP Wilson White said the company does plan to appeal the verdict. In a blog post, Epic Games called the verdict a “win for all app developers and consumers around the world.

You can read the entire verdict here, the question remains how does the win for Epic Games also impact Apple and its online store and digital distribution channel?
