Lenovo’s AI overhaul of its products doesn’t end with customers of the commercial facing ‘Think’ branded products, but even extends to its prosumer marker of Yoga and IdeaPad users.

During its Lenovo Innovation World 2024 showcase, the company announced upgrades to three of its flagship prosumer lineups that include the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, Lenovo Yoga Pro 7, and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim along with a new software suite called Lenovo Creator Zone.

  • The all-new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition (15″, 9), an Intel® Evo™ Edition Copilot+ PC1 powered by Intel Core™ Ultra processors (Series 2), the product of a multi-year collaboration with Intel.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition

Once again, Lenovo’s is blessing another flagship laptop with its new AI-powered suite of select software services branded as an Aura Edition.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i becomes the company’s third Aura Edition branded laptop that will support Smart Modes, Smart Share and Smart Care.

In addition to hosting modes to help customers stay more focused, better physically aligned, better prepared for video conferencing or demonstrations, and more secure with shielded displays, the Slim 7i will also boast an Intel Core Ultra processor (Series 2) for additional AI features.

Intel’s Core Ultra processors (Series 2) is an 8-core hybrid chip leveraging the company’s upgraded GPU and an NPU with support of 48+ TOPS to help power new AI experiences.

Under the hood the Lenovo is packing the Slim 7i Aura Edition with up to 32GB of 8533MHz RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.

As far as hardware is concerned, the Slim 7i will sport the familiar modern design as previous editions that includes the 14.5-inch OLED touch-enabled panel with WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution as well as achieving the illusive DCI-P3 color gamut for content creators, MacBook style speaker and keyboard deck layout as well as the increased touchpad size.

The Aura addition of the Slim 7i is expected to hit shelves later this month starting at $1,299.

Lenovo Yoga Pro 7

Interestingly enough, the pro version of the Yoga 7 will house the new AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor sporting 50 NPU TOPS to power more challenging AI and generative demanding tasks.

Per usual, the Pro comes with customary USB 4.0, USB 3.2, HDMI 2.1, and audio jack selection of ports as well as support for upgraded connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E.

Lenovo’s Yoga Pro 7 is not expected to sell in North America but should be available for the rest of the world.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1

Then there’s Lenovo’s more budget friendly offerings in the IdeaPad lineup which gets the recently announced Snapdragon X Plus chip with its 45TOPS NUPs paired with 16GB of Dual-Channel LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB TLC 2242 SSD storage.

While they’re typically known to be the laptops Lenovo skimps on when it comes to innovative features, this IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 will sport a display that looks and feels premium with a 16:10 aspect ratio on a 400-nit bright WUXGA OLED touch panel. Thanks to the OLED configuration, the 5x can hit 100% DCI-P3 color coverage to help with content creators who do a lot of after processing color grading or graphics editors.

Despite its low-budget association, the 5x still goes through Lenovo’s rigorous MIL-STS 810H certification to help protect against dust, debris, sand, water, and extreme temperature changes.

The 5x 2-in-1 should be available for purchase in October 2024 with a starting price of $849.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 Series

Then there is the rest of the Slim 5 Series that includes both the 13 and 15-inch models that aren’t housing a new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor but instead the new AMD Ryzen 7000 processors.

The base model 13-inch Slim 5 can be outfitted with up to 16GB while its bigger brother at 16-inch can hold up to 32GB of LPDDR5X and up to 1TB M.2 SSD.

While some OEMs prefer to distinguish their branding via the size of a device, Lenovo is offer the same high-quality screen layout in both the 13 and 15-inch laptops that includes a 165Hz refresh rate display with WUXGA resolution, 100 precent sRGB support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 support and the same port selection of:

  • USB Type-C
  • USB Type-A
  • FHD/IR webcam
  • HDMI 2.0 slot
  • MicroSD card reader
  • Audio jack

Both IdeaPads remain relatively light devices to carry around at 1.15kg and 1.49 representatively.

The updated Slim 5 Series will not be sold in NA at this time but should be available for EMEA markets in October starting at €699.

Lenovo Creator Zone

Beyond the hardware and chips, Lenovo has improved its game in AI driven software that it’s bundling with its latest laptops that now includes Lenovo Creator Zone.

While the Aura addition is exclusive to the Intel led partnership with Lenovo, the company offers its own integrated custom software on top of Smart Modes, intended to aid content creators with:

  • Text-to-Image: Users can simply type a text description of the desired image, hit enter, and Lenovo Creator Zone will generate four images based on the supplied text description. This feature allows users to quickly visualize concepts and ideas, effortlessly transforming written descriptions into visual content.
  • Sketch-to-Image: By sketching an image directly into Lenovo Creator Zone and providing a short text description, Lenovo Creator Zone will generate four images that illustrate that combined description, allowing users to create and iterate on rough ideas, turning them into polished visual representations quickly and easily.
  • Image-to-Image: Users can provide a reference image along with a supporting text description and Lenovo Creator Zone will generate four images based off that combined input. This feature is useful for creating variations of existing images to explore different styles and themes. It is particularly beneficial for projects that require multiple design options or enhancements of existing work.
  • Advance Image Editing: Lenovo Creator Zone includes robust image editing tools that allow users to modify generated images seamlessly, including background changes, image merging, color adjustments, and more. These tools provide a one-stop solution that enables users to fine-tune their images, ensuring they meet specific requirements or artistic standards.

Lenovo’s Creator Zone will be bundled with new hardware that supports the NPU or dedicated GPU chip architectures such as the Yoga Pro 9i, and additional support for other Yoga devices to follow.
