Lenovo mixes standard PCs and proof-of-concept devices at MWC 2025

Technology is constantly evolving, and sometimes manufacturers and OEMs stick to what works for fear of breaking the mold that breaks the profit. Lenovo has always broken the mold and made products, even if just concept ideas that push the industry forward. Let’s kick it off with a concept ThinkBook with a codename of “Flip.”

The Flip is an AI Proof of Concept designed to push form factors in a new direction. Demonstrating a revolutionary approach the business computing. Its outwardly folding OLED screen allows users to transition from a standard 13-inch laptop to a vertical outward folding 18.1-inch display. Using Workspace Split Screen a user can run multiple applications side by side without having to use external monitors. Backed by the Intel Core Ultra processor, 32GB of RAM, a ForcePad touchpad, and Thunderbolt 4, users have an AI-capable machine ready for work.

For a more traditional machine, the ThinkPad T14s, two-in-one, fits the bill with its 360-degree hinge design, has it in clamshell mode, tent mode, and down to a tablet ready for work. It’s also suitable for handwriting and brainstorming sessions. With the 56wh battery option, 5G connectivity, and Lenovo Trackpoint, you’re prepared for whatever work or workplace throws at you.

The redesigned ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 is designed for professionals requiring a high-performance ultraportable package. One of ThinkPad’s lightest designs is coming in at just 2.05 lbs. It’s perfect for optimized day-to-day productivity tasks. Built for remote work with the optional 5G connectivity, WIFI 7 with your choice of AMD Ryzen AI Pro processors or the Intel vPro with up to 64GB of RAM. Packing a 41-watt hour or 54.7 CRU battery to get you through the most challenging workdays. The ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 hits the market this June at $1,139

If you thought the idea of 3D displays was over, maybe we’re just getting started. Lenovo is introducing a concept 3D laptop for businesses and creative professionals. The ThinkBook 3D will allow you to switch between 2D and 3D modes while maintaining a realistic depth perception using a Directional Backlight 3D solution. The 3.2K display is 100 percent DCI-P3, making the display accurate for engineers and content creators.

To extend the next-generation experience, Lenovo is adding another proof of concept called the AI Ring. This is gesture-based control for touch-based navigation and 3D modeling manipulations. Its highly precise sensors allow users to rotate objects zoon and interact with 3D environments using simple movements, a more natural approach to spatial computing.
