Just after announcing its more budget friendly Snapdragon X Plus chip, Lenovo stuffed that processor into its ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 laptop for a starting price of $749.
Now in its seventh iteration, the ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 will deliver a familiar experience that includes its modern 16mm thick chassis design along with an expanded touchpad area, slim bezels on 16-inch display and an 84Whr battery to power the whole thing.
This time around Lenovo is tapping Qualcomm and its Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor and its 45 TOS integrated neural processing unit to manage the new AI features provided by Windows Copilot and Lenovo.
For 2024, Lenovo outfitted the ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 with 165Hz refresh rate panel with a 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio for users looking to maximize their content creation through video or image editing.
The ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 will also support Microsoft’s Pluton chip-to-cloud security technology to enable more secure identity and cryptographic services.
Across the pond, Lenovo will be offering the same device but powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 365 processor with up to 50 TOPS of capabilities and paired with AMD’s Radeon 880M GPU. AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 is set at 10-cores and 20 thread processing for improved efficiency.
Unfortunately, the 7+ isn’t destined for NA at this time.
However, the Qualcomm powered ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 should be available starting in October 2024.
