Lyrica 3 lets you make your own AI generated music with Gemini

Gemini just got a major upgrade, especially if you’re a music lover or just need some musical inspiration for your next project. The launch of Lyrica 3, DeepMind’s latest generative music model, lets users create custom tracks by describing an idea or uploading a photo. It’s not genre-specific; it can be nostalgic, tribute, something quirky, jam, or R&B; it’s up to you to decide. Once you decide, Gemini will generate a 30-second track complete with your own cover art.

You can generate music in two ways: describe your mood, a genre, or a memory, that’s text to track, or you can upload media and let Gemini figure out your mood. Each track will come with cover art generated by Nano Banana. Lyrica 3 is now live in beta within the Gemini app and is rolling out to YouTube creators via Dream Track to help them elevate the quality of their shorts.

All Lyrica 3 content is generated responsibly and includes SynthiD, Google’s invisible AI identifier. You’ll be able to verify whether audio, images, or video were created by Google AI directly inside the app. Google keeps things responsible by working closely with the music community and enforcing strict filters on its platforms. Prompts that feature a mention of a real artist are treated as a stylistic idea, not imitation.

Lyrica 3 is available to Gemini users over 18, with desktop access now and mobile rollouts coming in the coming days. It’s worth noting that users with a Gemini subscription, Google AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra will enjoy a higher usage limit.
