Today at Connect, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced the company’s next offering in the wearable space, the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses and the Meta Neural Band, designed to keep users up to date digitally regardless of their surroundings in a discreet manner. The Ray-Ban Display features a full color lens display that shows messages, notifications, translations, navigation, and more.
Paired with the Meta Neural Band, a wrist-worn device, users can control the glasses with slight finger movements. This breakthrough eliminates the need for a touchscreen, replacing it with muscle singles, making the experience both hands-free and intuitive. It also offers accessibility to those users with limited mobility and dexterity. Together, the pair helps unlock the following features.
- Real-time camera preview and zoom
- Messaging and video calling via Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram
- Navigation with visual maps
- Live captions and conversation translations
- Music playback with gesture and volume controls.
The bundle launches September 30th for $799. It’s essential to note that these are sold as a set and, for now, don’t appear to be sold separately. The wristband offers up to 30 hours of battery life and promises a comfortable, futuristic style, along with a seamless experience.
