Meta announces Quest 2 price cut as VR future for gamers comes into question

At times the sale of virtual reality (VR) headsets has rivaled consoles. We don’t know what the holiday numbers are for those new VR players, but if you’re looking to enter the VR space the Meta Quest 2 has some permanent price discounts that make the entry point a little more friendly.

In a blog post Meta announced that the Quest 2 will now start at $249 for the 128GB version and $299 for the 256GB version. Refurbished units are 229.99 and $269.99 respectively. There’s been some questions over the future of VR, Microsoft recently announced they would be removing Mixed Reality from future versions of Windows. VR software developer First Contact announced in mid-December they were closing the doors due to the lack of support for VR in the industry and the cost involved in producing future titles.
