Microsoft adjusts controversial OneDrive setting

Lets face it, most of us use Windows, but that doesn’t mean we want to use every feature in the operating system. Recently if you’re a Windows 10 or 11 user and you didn’t want to use OneDrive Microsoft made it very challenging to close it. If you wanted to close OneDrive you were presented with a mandatory pop-up to explain your decision before you could close it.

Microsoft did notice the overwhelmingly negative feedback and quickly reversed course. You don’t have to install any updates, the next time you restart your PC and connect to the internet OneDrive will automatically make the adjustments. Now if you right-click on the icon in the taskbar to pause syncing or quit OneDrive all you get is a warning message that the choice impacts all your devices.
