Microsoft is rolling out a refreshed Xbox Cloud Gaming web experience to Xbox Insiders, offering an early look at a redesigned interface the company says will help it build new features more quickly across its cloud platform. The update, now available in public preview, introduces a modernized layout, updated navigation, and a streamlined product flow that will eventually replace the existing browser experience.
In its announcement, Microsoft describes the preview as “a first look at our new web interface on your browser” and notes that the redesign lays the groundwork for faster iteration going forward.
Players who opt into the preview will notice immediate changes to the look and feel of the site. Microsoft highlights “updated navigation features and a refreshed look and feel,” though the company cautions that some functions may behave differently or be temporarily unavailable during the testing period. The goal, according to the announcement, is to refine the platform based on real‑world usage before rolling it out more broadly.
How to Access the Preview
Xbox Insiders can try the new experience by visiting xbox.com/play in a compatible browser and signing in with their Xbox account. From there, users must enable the Preview Features toggle in the Settings menu.
Once enabled, the new interface can be accessed in two ways:
- By following the prompts that appear within the existing experience (which may take up to 10 minutes to surface), or
- By navigating directly to play.xbox.com, which loads the redesigned UI immediately.
Players can switch back to the current interface at any time by returning to xbox.com/play.
