Microsoft brings more AI to its Edge browser with Theme Generator

According to Microsoft’s 365 Roadmap, a new theme generator that utilizes artificial intelligence will be coming to the Edge browser as soon as June 2024.

Microsoft’s BUILD developer conference is a couple of weeks away and the company is expected to douse every platform and service in AI including the Edge browser which looks to gain an AI theme generator following the event.

Microsoft’s 365 Roadmap list the Edge browser will roll out a new Theme Generator that allows users to use natural language to create prompts that produce customized images set as themes for the browser.

Microsoft Edge will include an AI theme generator, that allows users to input a text prompt and generate a series of images to preview as browser themes. Applying the theme includes setting the generated image on the Edge new tab page and applying the image’s dominant color to the browser frame. Admins can restrict access to this feature using the AIGenThemesEnabled policy.

AI generated images will be applied to the borders of the Edge browser as well as Tabs via customized matching color pallets and hues.

AI Theme generator will also be available to IT Admins to apply company-related themes to browsers via the modifications to AIGenThemesEnabled policy in Edge settings.
