Microsoft Paint adds Restyle in latest Windows Insider release

Microsoft has started rolling out a new AI feature called Restyle inside Paint for Windows Insiders. Restyle lets users apply artistic style transformations to images directly within Paint by choosing from a set of presets and letting the AI generate a transformed version that can be added to the canvas, copied, or saved.

What Restyle does and how to use it

  1. Open Paint and go to the Copilot menu.
  2. Select Restyle.
  3. Choose a style and select Generate.
  4. When the transformation is finished, choose Add to canvas, Copy, or Save.

Restyle is rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Canary, Dev, and Beta channels on Windows 11. The feature is currently enabled for Copilot plus PCs powered by Snapdragon and requires signing in with a Microsoft account to access it.

Restyle in Paint makes AI feel practical rather than flashy. Paint stays simple and approachable, and Restyle lets anyone quickly try different looks on an image without switching apps or learning new tools.

Restyle brings on-device AI creativity into Paint. For Insiders on supported Copilot plus hardware, it offers an accessible way to restyle images with a few clicks and to shape the feature via Feedback Hub.
