Microsoft Teams update brings new features

Microsoft is back in the office and pushing out features and software updates. The Microsoft 365 Insiders are getting a new update today with more features to the popular collaboration platform. This update brings pop out chat, Copilot and Notes panes in Teams meetings.

Now, you can use the side panel to monitor meeting discussions over video and chat while taking notes or use Copilot to stay engaged. You can also help yourself maintain focus by moving specific functions into separate windows to minimize distractions. This allows you to create a meeting layout to suits your screen and productivity needs.

Using the new features is simple. During a Teams meeting, you’ll notice a pop-out icon at the top right of your Chat, Copilot, and Notes side panes.

To pop the features out in separate panes click the corresponding incon.

Please remember that the Copilot pane is only available to users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license in the Worldwide environment. To use the new features, you must be a member of the Teams Public Preview or Microsoft Targeted release and use the new Teams client on Windows or Mac.
