Microsoft to remove old PDF viewer in 2025 from Edge

Microsoft and Adobe have partnered up to improve the PDF viewing experience for Edge users. The partnership should mean better rendering and performance for PDF files. According to Microsoft’s recent announcement post the change is coming sooner than later.

The old reader will be removed in early 2025, and the new engine will begin rolling out later in the summer of 2025. Of course, you can opt out of this on managed devices. The PDF reader inside the browser will remain free. Here’s a look at the expected timeline.
