Today, Microsoft announced the latest additions to its Surface Copilot+ PCs for Business: the Surface Pro 11th Edition and the Surface Laptop 7th Edition. These new devices are now available with the latest Intel® Core™ Ultra processors (Series 2). Starting February 18, business customers can choose between Intel and Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs from Surface, experiencing the most advanced, intelligent, and secure PCs available across both platforms.
In response to one of the top customer requests for more cellular connectivity options, Microsoft is also introducing the all-new Surface Laptop 5G, set to be available later in 2025. Microsoft claims that this new Laptop 5G device has been redesigned from the ground up to exceed customer expectations for a connected Windows PC and is equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2).

Microsoft is also unveiled yet a fourth Surface Dock in the new Surface USB4 Dock as well as new experiences with Microsoft Teams Rooms on Surface Hub 3, and the public preview of Security Copilot in the Surface Management Portal.
New Surface Copilot+ PCs for Business

The new Surface Laptop for Business is built with the latest Intel Ultra processors (Series 2), boasting an incredible battery life of up to 22 hours. It finally features anti-reflective displays with ultra-thin bezels, Wi-Fi 7, more ports, and an optional smart card reader.
The Surface Laptop for Business is available in two sizes, the 13.8-inch display offers a larger viewing area than traditional 14-inch screens within a more compact frame, while the 15-inch version which should provide even more viewing space while remaining easy to carry.

Compared to the Surface Laptop 5, Microsoft claims the new Surface Laptop delivers up to 26% faster performance for multi-tasking, up to 2x faster graphics performance, up to 3x the battery life during Teams calls, and can easily run new AI-powered experiences that tap into the Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
The keyboard on the Surface Laptop should provide that exceptional typing experience it has been known for over the years, perfected for comfort, speed, and sound with every keystroke. The new larger precision haptic touchpad will undoubtedly deliver a comprable and realistic feedback experience when tapped or clicked. In addition to its increased size and the removal of the diving board mechanics, the touchpad now allows users to easily adjust pressure sensitivity and use intuitive touch gestures for easier navigation.

The use of recycled materials is another key component of this new design. While the Surface Laptop still feels like a premium slab of aluminum, it now contains more recycled content than any other Surface device according to Microsoft. Not only is the enclosure made with over 65% recycled content, including 100% recycled rare earth metals in the magnets, but this device also features the company’s first-ever battery cell to make use of 100% recycled cobalt.
For the first time ever, Microsoft is adding cellular connectivity to the Surface Laptop lineup. Surface Laptop with 5G will be available later in 2025, enabling teams to work comfortably and productively from virtually anywhere.

The new Surface Pro is built with the latest Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2) and should deliver up to 2x the battery life during Teams calls compared to the Surface Pro 9. It also features enhanced local AI processing power with an NPU to amplify team intelligence, efficiency, and creativity through Copilot+ PC experiences designed for work. It will be interesting to see how this Intel model holds up against the current Snapdragon model already on the market.
What the current Snapdragon model doesn’t have that this new Intel one will, is the anti-reflective display on the Surface Pro is available with an OLED display option. This vibrant display can adapt to virtually any lighting condition and is optimized for touch and pen as well as reduced blue light exposure and flicker-free technology ensure for those marathon creative or productive sessions.

As is the case with most Surface Pro’s, users can be more effective when note-taking in meetings, using apps like Word to adapt to the changing needs of users. Users can handwrite notes with their Slim Pen, or use the far-field Studio Mics to transcribe notes—all directly on their Surface Pro.
This variant of the Surface Pro retains the same versatile and secure sign-in options as previous models that includes facial recognition through Windows Hello bio-authentication. Customers can sign in with facial recognition using the built-in Windows Hello Camera or the built-in NFC reader with security keys like the YubiKey 5C NFC to securely get to work without using a password.The new Surface Pro is also certified for use with Imprivata Enterprise Access Management (EAM), enabling healthcare providers to tap their NFC-enabled badge or security key to quickly sign in and out. Support for EAM login should enhance healthcare workflows and safeguards patient data by logging users off instantly, reducing errors by preventing clinicians from charting under the wrong profile, and increasing productivity by providing fast and secure user switching.

New Surface Hub 3 Experiences
Surface Hub 3 is the first-party Teams Rooms touch board that brings iconic Surface design together with inclusive and collaborative Teams Rooms experiences. It’s helped our customers create a consistent experience across Hub and other conference rooms and collaborative spaces, for both IT administrators and the teams using meeting spaces.
Microsoft is plans to bring more modern experiences to its Surface Hub that includes the regular use of Microsoft Edge in workflows. The Microsoft Edge browser on the Surface Hub 3 will offer seamless access to websites, third-party web apps, and personal content, with an easy-to-use Welcome screen button for walk-up browsing. New features include Edge Kiosk Mode for privacy and the ability to share browser sessions in meetings. Edge is targeting general availability in Q3 of 2025.

Based on customer feedback, Microsoft is adding Miracast support for all Teams Rooms on Windows devices, making it possible to project content from a Surface PC to Surface Hub 3 without using Teams Cast or calling.
