Notepad and Snipping Tool updates roll to Windows Insiders

Today, Microsoft has updates set on the Snipping Tool and Notepad for Windows Insiders, both in the Canary and Dev Channels.

Snipping Tool (Verison 11.2401.32.0)

This update adds the ability to capture shapes in the Snipping Tool. You can quickly use rectangles, ovals, and arrows to markup your screenshots. Getting started is easy, select the new shapes button on the toolbar and chose your desired shape. You can adjust the fill and outline colors as desired. Click and drag over your image to draw the shape. Once the shape is deselected, it will merge with your image, but can be removed with the eraser tool.

Notepad (version 11.2.401.25.0)

In this update, it’s now easier to understand the content of your files using “Explain with Copilot.” You can ask Copilot for Windows to help explain log files, code segments, and more from within Notepad.To give it a try use the new CTRL + E keyboard shortcut This feature is available on devices with Copiliot but there is a known bug that the new feature may not appear right away.
