OneDrive’s beautiful redesign is finally rolling out

Microsoft is finally rolling out the new OneDrive web experience that it has been teasing for months. The refreshed OneDrive is quite fluent looking, to line up with Windows 11’s design language. It also brings a new People view, which assists in seeing who you’re sharing files with.

Overall, there are a couple of things you’ll experience with the new OneDrive. The top one is the main UI redesign which makes it faster, more organized, and personalized. There are fewer annoying distractions, especially since the sidebar is now easier to understand and navigate. As for the new People view, you’ll be able to see a clean list, complete with photos of who you’re sharing files with, and what the suggested files are. There’s also the file type filter, to find a specific type for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files. There’s even a new command button, which makes it easier to upload files or create a new Microsoft 365 document.

The new experience is coming in phases to OneDrive on the web and should be coming to all OneDrive personal users by the end of February. It should help Microsoft’s apps and services feel more consistent, which has always been a problem for the company.
