Samsung raises the bar in foldables with the Z Fold7

Samsung unveiled the 7th generation of folding devices today with its flagship foldable, the Galaxy ZFold7. Placing a premium on the performance and experience of a premium smartphone. Opening up new levels of efficient productivity and play with a larger screen when unfolded.

One UI 8 powers the foundation, offering seamless integration with intelligent AI agents optimized for the mobile form factor. The Z Fold 7 is designed for those who want the portability of a daily smartphone, combined with the flexibility of a larger screen. An ultrathin design, complemented by a wider cover display, offers the user a seamless on-the-go experience when typing and browsing content while the device is folded. At just 215 grams, the Z Fold7 is lighter than the S25 Ultra and is 8.9mm thick when folded and 4.2mm thick when unfolded. You’ll be looking at a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x cover display with a wider screen and a 21:9 aspect ratio.

When unfolded, you get a tablet-like experience on the 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, featuring 2,600 nits of peak brightness, which keeps things vibrant even in direct sunlight. The hinge has been redesigned to make the device more durable and more confident for the user to toss in a bag on the go. The Armour FlexHinge is thinner and lighter, thanks to an enhanced water design and a newly implemented rail structure that reduces the visible creasing of the display.

The cover display is made of Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, a new material that has crystals embedded within the glass matrix to keep the screen durable and defect-free. The frame hinge housing increases in strength by 10 percent.

Under the hood, there are also some updates. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, offering a 41 percent increase in NPU performance, a 38 percent increase in CPU, and a 26 percent increase in GPU performance compared to the previous generation.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 puts a pro-grade creative studio powered by AI tools right in your hand. Featuring the first 200MP wide-angle camera pulling in up to 4X more detail and making content up to 44 percent brighter. The 10MP 100-degree camera on the main display expands the frame, allowing you to capture moments in a single shot when the phone is unfolded. Shooting in the dark means Night Video utilizes motion detection to capture subjects while reducing noise. The 10-bit HDR provides more color depth.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is available for preorder today, with general availability scheduled for July 25th. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is available in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black, and Mint.
