Google’s Platforms & Devices Team Faces Voluntary Exit Program Amid Efficiency Push

Last year, Google merged the teams responsible for Pixel hardware and Android software into one division. Today, Google announced a "voluntary exit program" for employees working in the Platforms & Devices group. This program applies to US employees working on various products, including Android (Auto, TV, Wear OS, XR), Chrome, ChromeOS, Google Photos, Google One, Pixel, Fitbit, and Nest.

However, as with most new tech, the Tensor 3 chip talk got old, and worse yet, it actually got tested against many of Google's marketing claims. While some still nitpick generic benchmarks to decried the chip, my initial experience with the chip as it powers Android 14 on both Pixels has been a delight.
