If you’re a Steam Deck owner, today is a big day for you. One of the drawbacks of Steam OS-powered handhelds has been the lack of native support for cloud gaming, although many users have found workarounds by side-loading apps and browsers onto their devices. Today, there’s no longer a need for those workarounds. Supercharge your Steam Deck with the new native app.
You can now stream titles in full 4K at 60 frames per second, with all Nvidia goodies enabled, including DLSS 4 and Reflex, on supported titles. You can also use settings that aren’t native on the Steam Deck, as well as a 50 percent battery life improvement from streaming versus playing on a device.
You’ll have access to over 2,200 games, including titles from Steam, Epic Games, Ubisoft, and Battle.net, as well as over 180 PC Game Pass titles from Xbox. No overheating; dock it to your big screen for the highest resolution; the power of the RTX 4080 is right there in your hand. Visuals and experiences from a handheld device gamers haven’t been able to experience before.
You can download the app from the GeForce Now page, and get a step by step guide here.
To celebrate the launch of the app, NVIDIA is giving away two prize bundles, each including a Steam Deck OLED and dock, as well as some GeForce Ultimate Memberships.
