The Meta Quest 3S is now available

The Meta Quest 3S was announced in late September as Meta’s most affordable option to date. It can be purchased today at a starting price of $299. The Quest 3 and the 3S have many similarities. Both are powered by the Snapdragon XR Gen2 processor, but Meta did need to cut costs in a few places, so there are some minor differences between the headset models.

The Quest 3S uses Fresnel lenses, which do make for a smaller field of view, which will disappoint some, especially if you’re using the Quest Link cable to take on PC VR. The Quest 3S can interchange with some of the Quest 3 accessories, including the Link Cable, carrying case, and charging dock. Depending on the game and activity, you can expect somewhere around 2.5 hours of use per charge.

As a perk, if you purchase the Quest 3 or 3S before April 30th, 2025, you will get a free copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow and a three-month subscription to the Meta Quest+ games service.
