At the Augmented World Expo, Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, a major leap forward in XR hardware designed to power the next generation of spatial computing. Both for high-performance video through headsets and lightweight tethered see-through glasses. Reality Elite blends cutting-edge graphics, advanced computer vision, and deeply integrated AI, all on a single platform.
With 60 million XR devices already in the market, Qualcomm sees the demand rising for a more efficient and intelligent offering, and Reality Elite is that answer, a purpose-built chipset built from the ground up for immersive and generative AI. Snapdragon Reality Elite delivers 48 TOPS of on-device AI performance, including language and vision models, with real-time generative experiences on devices. This will open a brand-new era of spatial computing capabilities, including photorealistic avatars, LLM agents, real-time object generation, smarter head and hand tracking, and more responsive see-through experiences.
The Reality Elite is positioned as the most powerful XR platform to date, offering 4.4K resolution per eye at 90 frames per second and lower latency for a natural blending of virtual and physical worlds. Qualcomm’s EVA hardware block accelerates demanding visual workloads with advanced passthrough quality. Despite the performance gains, you can expect up to 20 percent longer battery life and 12 degrees cooler under load.
