I was a big fan of the Surface Book lineup. The whole PC aspect versus a removable tablet was innovative and versatile for almost anyone. The Surface Book 3 came out on May 6th, 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. It came in two versions: 13-inch and 15-inch screens. If you have one of these cool systems, you’ve gotten your last update, which means no further firmware updates, drivers, or security patches will come.
The Surface Book kept the same design through it’s life cycle making it as far as the 10th generation Intel chips and 32GB ram was the maximum. You had the choice of integrated graphics, a GTX 1650/1660 Max-Q, in the business model the Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 was an option.
While the system did get five years of support and can indeed run Windows 11, you’ll get the Windows 11 software updates that come as well
