Valve to be a special guest at Lenovo’s gaming handheld event

This comes in from The Verge, the future of handhelds is just around the corner, January 2025 at CES. January 7th, to be exact, at an event titled Lenovo Legion x AMD: The Future of Gaming Handhelds. The event is said to feature Steam Deck co-designer, Pierre-Loop Griffais.

While Griffais won’t be the only interesting name on stage, Jason Ronald, Microsoft VP of Xbox, will also attend. While I have zero desire to spoil anyone’s announcement, it makes for an interesting trio on stage. Could we see the first Steam-powered handheld not produced by Valve? With Microsoft on stage could Lenovo be poised to take another run with an updated Legion handheld? The Legion Go was an awesome first attempt that set itself apart from the others with its dual-use detachable joysticks, kickstand, and QHD eight-inch screen.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Lenovo in the handheld space, it sounds like it could be very exciting.
