Windows 11 Beta Channel Insiders get USB4 80Gbps support

Microsoft just rolled out Windows 11 build 22635.3066 to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel. This week-ending build might be small, but it does deliver a big new feature —USB4 80Gbps support.

While the feature only works on new devices with 14th Gen HX-series mobile processors, which the Razer Blade 18 happens to be, it is helping modernize Windows. This is the latest USB standard, with faster speeds over USB3, up from 40Gbps. Keep in mind, though, that this feature isn’t new to Windows. Last week’s Dev Channel build also enabled support for USB4 80Gbps. There’s not much, but other new features in this build can be seen below.

  • Fixed a tabtip.exe crash which could impact the ability to input text
  • Fixed an issue where dragging the Task Manager window wouldn’t work if your mouse was on the search box
  • Fixed a crash when you tried to add natural voices for Narrator in Settings.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing voice access to crash when setting up new languages.

That’s all the Windows Insider action for the week. It was just yesterday that Microsoft released a Dev Channel build that added the option to see Teams meeting reminders on the Start Menu.
