Xbox Is Refreshing Achievements, and Insiders Get the First Look

Xbox Achievements have always acted like a personal highlight reel. They capture the games we have played, the challenges we have conquered, and the moments we are proud of. Now Microsoft is giving that system a thoughtful upgrade, and Xbox Insiders are the first to try it out. According to the latest Xbox Wire update, these improvements are rolling out gradually, with broader availability planned for later. Each change is small on its own, but together they show a renewed focus on making Achievements feel more modern and more personal.

One of the first updates players will notice is a visual refresh. Achievement notifications now feature updated icons and new animations for both classic and rare unlocks. Notifications also match your custom console color, which adds a subtle sense of ownership to each pop up. It is a simple detail, but it helps every unlock feel more connected to your profile and your playstyle.

That focus on personalization continues with one of the most requested features from the Insider community. Later this month, players will be able to hide any game from their Achievement history. This gives you more control over how your accomplishments appear on your profile. Maybe you tried a game briefly and moved on, or maybe you want a cleaner and more intentional list. Whatever the reason, you will finally have the freedom to curate your profile without affecting your total Gamerscore or activity reporting.

Completionists also get a meaningful upgrade. Games where you have earned every available Gamerscore will now be highlighted in your list, making full completions easier to spot at a glance. New filter options help you quickly separate completed titles from hidden ones, which makes browsing your gaming history feel more streamlined. Xbox notes that this is only the beginning of a broader effort to better recognize milestone moments, suggesting that more nuanced completion features may arrive in the future.

As these features roll out, Xbox is encouraging Insiders to share feedback. The Xbox Insider subreddit remains the best place to ask questions, report issues, and join discussions with staff and fellow players. For anyone who is not an Insider but wants early access to updates like these, joining is as simple as downloading the Xbox Insider Hub on console or PC.
