You can now stream your owned games on Xbox Cloud

Microsoft continues to add value and accessibility to your Xbox Game Pass membership. Starting today you can stream your own games with the Xbox Cloud. Xbox has heard the request to stream games you own that are beyond the Xbox Game Pass catalog, Starting today those with a Game Pass Ultimate membership can stream games they already on to smartphones, PCs, tablets and even VR headsets, It’s available in all 28 countries where Xbox Game Pass is available. Microsoft says they are just getting started, in 2025 this feature will be available in the Xbox App on Windows and direct to consoles.

Today, it starts with 50 games available, with more to come as gaming partners add their titles. Don’t worry; the special editions of titles are detected when streaming, so you get all those added perks in your experience. For example, if you own Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, it will be detected at launch, and all the bells and whistles that come with that edition will be available.

Ready to rock? Awesome, Microsoft has made it easy for you to get started, follow the steps below.

On your PC, phone, tablet, handheld, and most devices with access to a web browser: 

  • Use a supported browser like Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Apple Safari. 
  • Navigate to https://xbox.com/play
  • Sign into your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.  
  • Look for “Stream your own game” to discover games you can play right now, and others you can stream after purchasing them. 
  • Connect a supported controller. Controllers like the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualSense, or DualShock 4 controller are all compatible. On PC, some games will also support mouse and keyboard input. 
  • Start playing! 

On supported TVs and VR headsets: 

  • Download and launch the Xbox app (on supported Samsung TV, Amazon Fire device) or the Xbox Cloud Gaming app (on Meta Quest 2, 3 or Pro).. 
  • Sign into your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.  
  • Look for “Stream your own game” to discover games you can play right now, and others you can stream after purchasing them. 
  • Connect a compatible Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller. Controllers like the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualSense, or DualShock 4 controller are all compatible. 
  • Start playing!
