Your inactive Google account is getting deleted soon

If you haven’t logged into your Google account in the past year it might be a good idea to do so. Google will start deleting inactive accounts that haven’t been used in two years in December. Odds are if you haven’t logged in recently you don’t have 2FA enabled and the account could be compromised.

If you use any of Google’s services, Gmail, YouTube, or Google Play, and have logged in within the last two years your account will be safe. Google has said they will not delete accounts that have active YouTube videos or a Google One subscription. Google’s first targets will be those accounts that have been created and never used. The deletion process doesn’t happen all at once but will be phased throughout the month. Google business and educational accounts are not impacted.
